According to reports, Bad News has earned around 9 crores in the opening day, it remains to be seen how far this film’s size goes and whether the film is able to break the records of movies like Kalki, Pathan, Jawaan or not. Bad News achieved a total Hindi occupancy of 22.83% on Friday. The film takes a fun turn away from the usual rom-com tropes, diving into the chaotic world of heterosexual hyper sexuality.

The Hindustan review of the film wrote, “Bad News suffers from stereotypes that you wish were left behind by now – Punjabis love rajma chawal, mummy’s sons are careless husbands, women choose career over marriage, and the list goes on. Though comedy isn’t really the highlight of the film, I liked how the makers have woven in some great meta jokes that stand out.

Referring to Dimri as Bhabhi 2 and ‘National Crush’, a scene in which Gurbir tells Akhil not to behave like Vicky Sandhu from Manmarziyan, or another scene in which Kaushal stops Virk from throwing a photo of Katrina Kaif and says, ‘Iske liye toh tujhe meri lash se guzarna padega’ – these are all incorporated well into the script.”
